Shortly after graduation from Bucks County Community College with a degree in Graphic Design and Illustration, Melissa moved to Ketchikan, Alaska where she co-founded the Morning Raven Art Co-Op. She stayed to work and study in Alaska for three years before moving to New York City.
In NYC, she found her niche in children’s textile design. In 1989, she started her own freelance design company working fulltime for manufacturers.
She returned to Doylestown in 1993, and continued her business for clients still based in NYC. Her clothing designs can be found at J.C.Penney’s, Target, Walmart, Kohl’s and Nordstroms.
Her freelance efforts also included working with Mike Pantuso for Sesame Street. She was awarded a Daytime Emmy Recognition for Graphic Design for the 1989-90 season.
Her work has been included in The Society Of Illustrators 26th Annual Show and publication. she has shown at the Leleu Gallery and several group shows at Mixed Media Gallery in Doylestown and Cedar Maze in Pt. Pleasant, PA.
She resides in Doylestown, married to Brett Haddaway, a commercial playground designer/builder and is inspired by her dog, Amos and kitty, Diego!!
